Questions air-conditioning mechanics ask

Is SEO for air conditioning seasonal?

Searches jump before the first hot week and again when winter arrives for heating. Work on your profile and pages in the quiet months, because that is what is in place when the rush hits. Starting in December is late for that summer, but not for the next one.

Should split systems and ducted have separate pages?

Yes. They are different searches from different buyers. Someone pricing a split for a bedroom and someone planning ducted for the whole house want different answers, and one combined page rarely serves either well.

Do AI assistants actually recommend air con businesses?

They already do. Ask ChatGPT or Google's AI for an air conditioning installer in your suburb and it will name a few businesses. They lean on the same things Google does: a complete profile, clear service pages and recent reviews. Nothing is certain, but you can give them more to go on.

I run the business from home. Do I have to show my address on Google?

No. Set your Google profile as a service area business, hide the street address and list the suburbs you cover instead. Your home stays off the listing and you can still appear in map results, but Google still weighs where you are actually based, so the suburb list alone will not lift you in areas further out. Keep the business name and phone identical everywhere.

Does my ARCtick licence number help me get found?

Not directly. There is no sign Google ranks on it. But your business's ARCtick authorisation number, the one starting with AU, already has to appear in your advertising, and that includes your website. Put it in your website footer and your Google profile description too. It shows the person deciding who to call that you are properly authorised.

Do I need a website for this?

Not to start. Your Google profile can do a lot on its own. If you have a website, Smoko drafts service and suburb pages for it from Tradie School's templates, for you to check.

I'm a one-person business. Is this worth it?

Yes. Someone searching for a tradie nearby wants the job done well, not a big crew. Smoko drafts everything from your answers and photos for you to check, so it doesn't eat your evenings.

How long until I show up higher?

No one can honestly promise a date or a spot. Google takes time to pick up changes, and every trade and area is different. This course helps you get the basics right and keep them right.

Will Smoko change my Google profile or website without asking?

No. Smoko drafts every change and shows it to you first. Nothing goes live until you approve it.
