What AI can do for solar installers

Build Your Solar Brand with AI

  • 56 min
  • 4 modules

A solar system stays on the roof for years, so homeowners want an installer who will still answer the phone later. Many have already had cold calls about solar. AI uses your answers about your crew and the systems you fit to draft logo options, colours and a way of writing for your ute, site visits and proposals.

A full rooftop system, a battery added to existing panels, an inverter swap and a fault call on another company's install all pay differently once you count travel, roof access and return visits. Give AI a year of jobs and their costs. It sorts them by job type and town, then drafts an offer around the work that pays best.

AI drafts separate pages for rooftop solar, home batteries, inverter replacement, solar repairs and EV chargers. Meta Ads for Solar Installers Using AI

A large power bill after a hot summer or cold winter often starts a household looking at solar. Facebook and Instagram ads show your installs to homeowners, farmers and small businesses in your towns before that bill arrives. AI writes versions of each ad using your roof photos and adds a short form asking for suburb and roof type.

Finished systems look much the same from the street, so close photos of your work show the difference: rails set straight, cables clipped out of sight, a battery mounted neatly on the garage wall. AI picks your best site photos and videos, writes a headline and opening line for each ad, and turns reviews into images for you to check.

Build a Solar Proposal with AI

  • 58 min

Households often hold a few quotes that all say '6.6 kW system' with different panels, inverters and batteries. A proposal that names each part, shows where the panels go, lists switchboard work and explains install day is easier to compare. AI drafts it from your costings, site visit notes and roof photos, with follow-up texts you can edit.

Questions solar installers ask

Does Tradie School teach solar installation work or licensing?

No. Tradie School covers the business side: getting found, pricing, selling and following up. System design, the install and the electrical work remain yours. Your licence and your state's rules are a matter between you and your regulator. The courses only show where your licence number belongs, such as your proposals and your Google profile.

Can a small solar business compete with the national companies?

In your own area you can offer what a national company finds hard: the owner on the phone, a crew that lives nearby and someone local for warranty calls. The courses cover how to show that in your brand, your Google profile and your proposals. Smoko drafts all three, and you approve them.

Much of my work is fixing other installers' systems. Does this suit me?

Yes. When the company that fitted a system has closed, the owner looks for someone else, often by searching for a repair. The courses cover a page stating that you service systems other companies installed, plus ads and posts showing those jobs. Smoko writes the drafts and you decide what goes live.

I install for retailers on subcontract. Do I need my own marketing?

Yes, if you want more customers of your own. On a subcontract install the household is the retailer's customer, and they remember the retailer's name. The courses cover a brand, a website and a Google profile in your own name, then proposals you price yourself. Smoko drafts each part, and nothing is sent until you approve it.
